Meri Yaadain CiC would like to wish all our Muslim friends, family and colleagues a blessed Ramadhan. Whilst this Ramadhan will be challenging and different to previous years, we wish you and your family peace, health and happiness. We have produced some advice on how to manage dementia care during the holy month.
We have re-launched the Meri Yaadain website to mark the 1st year anniversary of Meri Yaadain being a Company interest Group. It has been an amazing and productive journey to get to this stage and we hope there are many more years to come.
In responding to the global pandemic, COVID-19, Meri Yaadain has produced some information leaflets for all BAME Dementia stakeholders with important information on how to stay safe and healthy in this difficult time.
This is an opportunity to come along, listen to a few experts on the subject of dementia in BAME communities. An opportunity for professionals and practitioners working in the field of dementia / dementia services / research to have a constructive dialogue with BAME community members.
It was a huge honour for Meri Yaadain to be invited to present at this international conference in October 2019, where Mohammed Akhlak Rauf gave a keynote speech. Migrant communities are both transient and settled, they include migrants from within Europe and from outside it.
Mohammed Rauf was invited as a speaker at the 28th Alzheimer Europe Conference “Making dementia a European priority” Barcelona, Spain.
Congratulations to our founder, Mohammed Akhlak Rauf, who became a Member of the British Empire in recognition of his work in raising awareness of dementia amongst BAME communities, through the award winning Meri Yaadain project he set up.
